We attended Cyber Expo Ireland 2018 last month, a one-day Expo which brings together leading cyber professionals and provides them with a platform to share newfound knowledge on mitigating rising security risks. Organisers Renaissance, Ireland’s leading data security distributor, put in a lot of hard work to organise the event, and it clearly showed.

Having been the first time attending, the event was a roaring success for Burning Tree, with more than 1,200 people attending on the day. Our expert CISO, David Lello, held an informative talk on “Clarity for your Security Assurance Process” and successfully introduced our innovative new product Asure.

We met many interesting companies throughout the day and were able to sit in on some of the other interesting talks including the “Forensic Recovery” talk from VM Forensics and the “Identity Challenge” talk from IAM Experts, all providing valuable insight to businesses on how to protect themselves, the data they use and the staff who come into contact with it.

David’s talk

As the first expert talk of the day, and despite a little interference from Storm Diana, there was a room full of eager industry experts, exhibitors and end users to enjoy David’s talk. With plenty of engagement and interest in our new tool, Asure, and a flurry of interesting questions for David after his talk, there is a great sense of excitement for us over the coming months!

Aside from the excellent response to David’s talk, our branded stand also saw a large number of foot traffic with much intrigue regarding Asure and its business triaging possibilities. We loved meeting new people and sharing our knowledge about reducing project risks and costs with the help of our brand-new Project Management service.

What’s next?

With Cyber Expo Ireland 2018 being such a worthwhile event, we are already looking forward to exhibiting at Cyber Expo Ireland 2019 and are keen to engage with more people regarding their security problems and how we can help solve them. We will be celebrating the success of exhibiting at the Expo with a few Christmas tipples, but for now, it’s back to business as the launch of Asure will be keeping us busy well into the new year.
